Marites Velasquez, APRN

Mrs. Marites Velasquez is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who has been with MSPB since August 2020. She is a family Nurse Practitioner at MSPB Internal Medicine, focusing on assessment of patient needs, diagnosing illness and disease, prescribing medications, formulating treatment plans, and ordering and analyzing laboratory and diagnostic tests.
 

Mrs. Velasquez has been working as a board-certified APRN since 2006. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from San Juan de Dios College of Nursing in the Philippines in 1987 and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida in 2006. She was the recipient of first honors for both clinical and academic excellence in her BSN class of 1987. Additionally, she is a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, and Lambda Chi Chapter.

Mrs. Velasquez has worked as a Registered Nurse in the surgical areas of St. Luke's Hospital in NYC, SUNY Stony Brook, Mather General Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY, Palms West Hospital, and JFK Medical Center. As a board-certified Nurse Practitioner, she has also worked in internal medicine offices, retail health with Walgreens and CVS clinics, as well as for Baptist Health urgent care. Additionally, she has served as a surgical first assistant in various hospitals and surgery centers in Palm Beach County.

She takes a special interest in everything that concerns her patients. She considers her profession as her passion. Her personal satisfaction is to be able to cater to the needs of her patients. 

 

She loves to spend her free time with her family especially taking care of her grandson. She also likes to go out with her husband and speak to her children and other family members.
